The Vision
This South Park homeowner had a formal koi pond without filtration, and the water stayed cloudy from waste accumulation. They needed a solution that would clean the water while integrating naturally with the formal pond design.
The Transformation
We installed an Aquascape spillway bowl with biological filter media under a filter pad, topped with gravel and planted aquatic plants to make it look more natural. We positioned stones and an accent log in front to lock the bowl into place and help the natural filter blend with the formal pond. The spillway bowl adds the soothing sound of cascading water while improving water quality for the koi through increased aeration, circulation, and biological filtration that keeps the water clear.
