The Vision
This Fort Mill client wanted a natural water feature with a gas fire pit that felt cohesive with the rest of their outdoor space. The existing landscaping created privacy but acted more as a barrier than usable space. They needed a design that would transform the area into a functional retreat while keeping the privacy, drowning out neighborhood noise and passing planes, and making them feel the escape of nature from the comfort of their property.
The Transformation
We built a pondless waterfall that flows naturally alongside the pool, turning the landscaping barrier into an integrated entertainment zone. Large stone seating boulders face the home and encourage conversation between the pool deck and cascading waterfalls. The centerpiece is a 2-ton natural boulder we custom drilled to create a custom fire feature that no store-bought fire pit can match. The underwater lighting beneath each waterfall produces a mesmerizing effect at night as the flowing water creates a flicker over the illuminated stones. The calming sounds from the waterfalls drown out neighborhood noise and passing planes and delivers the escape of nature without leaving home.
